About Bill

Bill began his career in business early in life, as an employee of a family owned wholesale company located in Thunder Bay, Ontario. Following graduation from Lakehead University School of Business in 1970 he assumed the position of General Manager with this firm helping to develop the organization into one of the largest privately held wholesalers in Northwestern Ontario.

In 1979, Bill began his career in franchising as the franchisor for Robin’s Donuts. Robin’s developed into a successful national franchise organization and evolved into the largest donut chain in Western Canada by the late 80’s. Over the last 30 years, Bill has also been involved in franchising within the heavy equipment, auto after market and restaurant industries.

Bill, wife Sandra and family moved to British Columbia in 1997 where Bill, as Director of Operations and Franchise Sales for Kelsey’s International, spearheaded the expansion of the restaurant chain throughout BC.

Sandra is employed with the Fraser Health Region while daughter Lindsay is a graphic designer in Vancouver. Bill’s daughter Kyley works with The Red Cross as a Fund Development Coordinator.

Bill is a Past President of the Thunder Bay Chamber of Commerce and Vancouver Arbutus Rotary Club, Past Vice-Chair of the Thunder Bay Economic Development Corporation and a Past Director of the Canadian Franchise Association. Bill thoroughly appreciates the intricacies of business and particularly franchising. FranNet has allowed Bill to fulfill his desire to again be involved in the franchise community.
