About Jim
Jim Gleason has over 30 years combined experience in the corporate, counseling, and consulting worlds Jim has a thorough understanding of the demands placed on individuals, both personally and professionally, and how to help them effectively deal with those demands and navigate the waters of change. He works with individuals and businesses by helping them identify their strengths and resources as well as obstacles to achieving their goals, helps them identify priorities and goals, and provides an accountability system to keep them on track.
With his broad range of experience, Jim has dealt with individuals and groups of people from virtually every walk of life. After graduating with a BS in Marketing from the Kelley School of Business at Indiana University he began his career in sales with a large international computer company. He rapidly moved into sales management. Over the next several years Jim was in sales and management in the medical field, office supplies, and financial services industries. Jim then returned to graduate school and received a master’s degree in counseling from Butler University. He then entered the addictions field as a substance abuse counselor working with adolescents, adults, and families. After several years of clinical work he became the Executive Director of a 70-bed adolescent inpatient treatment facility. Jim left the corporate world in 1992 when he began a successful private counseling practice. Because of his personal experience of being involved in corporate downsizing Jim included career consulting and outplacement work in his counseling practice and eventually took his practice into career consulting.
