About Joan

Joan’s nickname is “Queen of Franchising”. With 31 years of experience in franchising, the name is probably appropriate.

After leaving Memorex Corporation on 1980, Joan co-founded a publishing franchise in Florida and owned two publishing franchises herself. She has been area vice president for two national franchise companies in the temporary help industry and vice president of Franchise Sales for a San Jose based franchise.

In 1990, Joan decided that helping buyers find the “right” franchise was her passion, so she joined FranNet to fulfill her dream. For the past 21 years, Joan has been educating and consulting using her matchmaking skills to help San Francisco Bay Area investors get into businesses and franchises that are right for them.

FranNet’s service is free. We are paid by the franchisor once a match is made.

Joan served on the FranNet Board ten of the past 21 years, a member of the International Franchise Association (IFA) and a member of SCORE. She has owned another franchise, Sunbelt Business Brokers, since 2000 and holds the designation of Certified Business Intermediary (CBI) with the International Business Brokers Association (IBBA) and the designation of Certified Business Broker (CBB) with the California Association of Business Brokers (CABB).

Joan is an active member of her community, and is a core leader with Community Bible Study (CBS). Her husband, John, is also a business broker, and they currently live in San Jose, California.
